February Art News

Third grade completed their clay Tiki masks or animal faces, and also created puppets after watching a video on making them featuring Jim Henson. They are currently starting a drawing unit.

Fourth Grade are finishing multiple projects including “Dot Grid Drawings”, “Graffiti Walls”, and drawing in their sketchbooks.

Fifth grade is wrapping up an integrative unit, creating Graphic Novels, using the “plot mountain”, and researching the topic on a specifically designed website on that topic, using 1:1 Chromebooks. Fifth grade is also drawing in their sketchbooks.

Video tutorials on drawing hands (fourth grade) and drawing shoes (fifth grade) are right below this post. In both cases, we are focusing on observational drawing, an important cognitive set to build small motor skills.
